The Why?
Africa, a continent often lauded for its vibrant spirit, stands as a cultural powerhouse with a booming creative economy. These sectors, encompassing film, music, art, literature, and fashion, have become powerful conduits for sharing the continent's narratives and aesthetics with the world. While the global phenomenon of Afrobeats, largely popularized by West African artists, showcases the remarkable success of African music, the burgeoning African fashion industry represents a significant and largely untapped frontier for the continent's creative export. Though still in its early stages of widespread international expansion, there is a significant and exciting opportunity for us to be involved in the recognition of African fashion and further growth of Africa’s creative economy.
